Hunsucker-Rising wedding
Sonya Michele Rising of Asheboro became the bride of Christopher Aaron Hunsucker of Troy on Jan. 20, 2008, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Asheboro.
The bride is the daughter of Clyde and Alma Williamson Jr. of Seagrove. The groom is the son of Herbert Hunsucker Jr. of Badin Lake and Barbara Hunsucker of Albemarle.
Cleveland Byrd officiated at the service.
The bride was given in marriage by Clyde Williamson Jr., her father. The maid of honor was Ruth Strider of Asheboro. Bridesmaids were Shanna Bulson of Troy, N.Y., sister of the groom; Renee Graham of Troy, N.C, sister of the bride; Clarice Rising of Asheboro, sister of the bride; and Bonnie Williamson of Asheboro, sister of the bride.
The bride wore a long white satin dress with a chapel style chiffon overlay train, bordered with sequins which started halfway up the front of the dress. A short sleeved lace bodice was covered with sequins and beads. She wore a small tiara with double veiling flowing to the waist and carried light blue and white winter themed bouquet with various flowers and lilies.
Best man was Wayne Bulson of Troy, N.Y., the groom’s brother in law. Groomsmen were Daniel Byrd of Angier, the bride’s uncle; Tyler Graham of Troy, N.C., cousin of the groom; Dustin Simmons of Troy, N.C., cousin of the groom; and Daniel Williamson of Seagrove, brother of the bride.
Other participants were flower girls Hailey and Kaitlyn Williamson of Troy, N.C., nieces of the bride; pianist Gina Grant of Asheboro; soloist Stephanie Laughlin of Lexington, N.C.; Josh Grant of Asheboro, sound; photographer Casie Hunt of Asheboro; and Patti Wiedman, wedding director.
The reception was held at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in the fellowship hall. Participants in the reception were servers Jean Strider, Phyllis Hunt, Vickie Reeder, Cynthia Laughlin, Mary Edwards and Debbie Strider; Tina Simmons of Troy, N.C., who attended the bride’s registry; caterers Jean Strider and Ruth Strider. The bride’s cake was made by Jean Strider and Janet Williams of Asheboro. Phillip Cagle was the caterer for the reception, which was held at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church the day before the wedding.
The wedding cake was four satellite style vanilla and chocolate pound cakes decorated with pearls throughout the butter cream icing and topped with bouquets of blue and white flowers that matched the bride’s bouquets.
Bridal showers were given by the bride’s family at Asbury Baptist Church in Seagrove, the Mt. Lebanon Church family in the church’s fellowship hall and Southwestern Randolph High School at the school.
The couple spent their honeymoon at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro. They live in Asheboro.
