Eastern Randolph turned back Asheboro 13-12 last week in a Mid-Piedmont 3A jayvee baseball. Jon-Eric Hall paced the Wildcats with three hits and four RBI. Ethan Clark, Dustin Haithcox and Caleb Kidd had two hits apiece. Phillip Hardin earned the mound win as ER improved to 4-6 in the MPC and 7-8 on the season. Bryan Honeycutt and Tommy Guy had two hits each for Asheboro.
ERHS softball win
RAMSEUR - Behind a strong pitching performance from Dallas Heaton, Eastern Randolph captured a 5-3 softball victory over visiting Randleman last week. ER improved to 7-3 in the MPC and 8-5 overall while Randleman slipped to 5-3, 8-5.
ERHS sports banquet set
RAMSEUR - The annual Eastern Randolph High School sports banquet is scheduled this weekend at the school cafeteria. The event begins at 6 p.m. Sunday with a meal followed by presentation of awards in all ER sports programs. Athletes will be admitted free and others can buy tickets for $12, available at the school office or by calling 824-2351.
