27 arrested in drug sweep

ASHEBORO — A drug sweep targeting all of Randolph County has landed 27 people in jail on various drug charges with bonds ranging from $1,000 to $1 million while law enforcement continues to look for at least 26 others.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was joined by the Archdale Police Department, Asheboro Police Department, Liberty Police Department, Ramseur Police Department and Seagrove Police Department for Operation Mutual Aid, which targeted street level and mid-level drug dealers throughout the county.

The operation, which began in January, culminated Wednesday with 27 people being charged with 102 various offenses ranging from possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and littering to selling alcohol without a permit. In all, 53 people were charged. The remainder are expected to be taken into custody before the end of the week.

The following were arrested:

  • Kevin Lamont Alston, 33, of 207 W. Vance Ave., Asheboro, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, and selling or delivering cocaine. Bond: $52,000 secured.
  • Joe Thomas Ashworth, 321 N. Elm St., Asheboro, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, two counts of felony possession of cocaine and two counts of selling or delivering cocaine. Bond: $25,000 secured.
  • Cynthia Campos, 21, 812 Occoneechee Ave., Asheboro, felony possession of cocaine. Bond: $5,000 secured.
  • Anthony Rayshaun Davis, 427 N. Main St., Apt 12, Asheboro, three counts possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, three counts felony possession of cocaine, two counts of selling or delivering cocaine and one count each of trafficking in opium or heroin and possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III drug. Bond: $1 million secured.
  • Donald Eugene Dunn, 4967 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, possession of cocaine. Bond: $1,000 secured.
  • Mercedes Glover Fletcher, 321 Brookside Drive, Asheboro, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: Not listed.
  • Thomas Lee Fletcher, 321 Brookside Drive, Asheboro, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: Not listed.
  • – Antonio Tyon Gladden, 1194 Brooklyn Ave. Ext., Ramseur, possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule VI drugs, possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule IV drugs, selling or delivering Schedule VI drugs, selling or delivering Schedule IV drugs, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and littering 15 to 500 pounds. Bond: $40,000 secured.
  • – Tamar Glover, 1689 Sandy Ridge Drive, Liberty, one count selling alcohol without a permit. Bond: Not listed.
  • – Kevin Anthony Greene    , 3314 N.C. 22 North, Franklinville, two counts felony possession of cocaine and one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, selling or delivering cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $160,000 secured.
  • – Brandy Michelle Hamilton, 34, 3663 Tom Brown Road, Franklinville, attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud. Bond: $11,500 secured.
  • – Tekko Harrington, 2778 Fork Creek Mill Road, Seagrove, misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Released on written promise to appear.
  • – Iris Jerline Isom, 35, 1208 Park Drive, Asheboro, possession of Schedule II drug, possession of Schedule III drug and possession of Schedule IV drug. Bond: $50,000.
  • Clifford Henrique Jordan, 3764 Mechanic Road, Asheboro, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $1,000 secured.
  • Tonya Lynn Bradford Jordan, 3764 Mechanic Road, Asheboro, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: Not listed.
  • Marquis Clayton Lane, 22, 322 N.C. 42 North, Asheboro, two counts each of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine and selling or delivering cocaine. Bond: Not listed.
  • Harvey Arthur Leach, 3089 Leach Meadow Road, Seagrove, selling alcohol without permit (criminal summons). Bond: Not listed.
  • Baron William Lindsay, 43, 6852 Brooksdale Road, Staley, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, selling or delivering cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $100,000 secured.
  • William Greene Moore III, 680 Myrtle St., Asheboro, possession with intent to sell or distribute Schedule II drugs and selling or delivering Schedule II drugs. Bond: $10,000.
  • Tiffany Tyrell Murdock, 6852 Brooksdale Road, Staley, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: Not listed.
  • Edwin Shane Riley, 48, 2975 Old Mountain Road, Lot 11, Trinity, possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule II drugs, selling or delivering Schedule II drugs and two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin. Bond: $1 million secured.
  • James Winfred Spinks, 56, 482 Isley Lane, Ramseur, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, two counts felony possession of cocaine and two counts of selling or delivering cocaine. Bond: $500,000 secured.
  • Crystal Gledhill Spivey, 4781 Huntingtwood Road, Ramseur, misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $5,000 secured.
  • Jessica Nicole Summey, 20, 516 Mt. Shepherd Road, Asheboro, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $1,000.
  • William David Sweeney, 37, 7541 Side Church Road, Seagrove, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Bond: Not listed.
  • Leslie Richardson West, 33, 538 Columbia Ave., Ramseur, nine counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count each of simple possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $12,500 secured.
  • Kevin Graham Young, 47, 812 Occoneechee Ave., Asheboro, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, selling or delivering cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II drug, selling or delivering Schedule II drug, misdemeanor possession of Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
