Bluegrass at Denton festival

The 28th annual Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver Bluegrass Music Festival, presented by Bill Plemmon's RV World, will be held May 8 through May 10.
The Bluegrass Scramble golf tournament will be held May 8 at Uwharrie Golf Course.
Appearing will be The Grascals, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Cherryholmes Family Band, JD Crowe Randy Waller and The Country Gentleman, Paul Williams and the Victory Trio.
Shows will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. A church service will be held Sunday morning.
The Denton FarmPark has more than 500 camping hook-ups, five bathhouses with 30 showers and plenty of food on the premises. Camping rates are $20 for a hook-up site and $10 for all rough and tent sites. Rough camping is free with a 2-day ticket to the shows.
Tickets are $85 for three days, $65 for two days and $35 for one day. Children under 15 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying parent.
Concert tickets for those ages 15 to 17 are $30 for two days and $37 for three days. Admission is $20 for adults arriving at the FarmPark after 5 p.m. Parking is free. Lawn chairs are permitted.
The Bluegrass Scramble will be a Captain's Choice format. Tee off will be at 10 a.m. at the Uwharrie Golf Course off N.C. 49 in Asheboro. Participants can bring a team or be paired up. Participation is $40 per person and includes tournament play and a meal.
