DENTON – Phillip Nelson Armstrong, 63, of 5874 Jackson Creek Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at the home of his sister.
The funeral was held Jan. 5, 2008, at Farmer Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Lamb officiating. Burial was in Farmer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County and was retired as a self-employed roofer.
Surviving are stepdaughter, Linda Bivens of Lexington; mother, Lucille Armstrong of Asheboro; sister, Sharon Armstrong of Asheboro; brothers, Kenneth Armstrong and Tim Armstrong, both of Denton and George Armstrong of Trinity.

ASHEBORO – Evelyn Kiser Boone, 80, of 1019 Old State Highway, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.

She was a native of Mooresville, worked in retail and was a homemaker.

ASEHBORO – Worth Elmer "W.E." Callicutt Jr., 66, of 124 Emmanuel Church Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.

He was a native of Randolph County, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, retired from General Electric and was former owner and operator of Seagrove Muffler and Tire.

He was a native of Randolph County, worked at Sapona Manufacturing and was retired from Klaussner Furniture.

She was a native of London, England, a homemaker and a welder for the war effort welding war munitions.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Henry D. "Hank" Klepacki, a graduate of Asheboro High School, attended Greensboro Women's College, was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a member of the Randolph Arts Guild.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of W. Allen Nelson, a graduate of Trinity High School, co-founder of Nelson Frames Inc., member of Popular Ridge Friends Meeting and a volunteer with Randolph County Meals on Wheels.

He was a native of Petersburg, Va., attended Randolph Macon College, was a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired textile executive.

He was a native of Randolph County, attended Sophia and North Asheboro Church of God, was the owner and operator of T & S Machine Shop and Wilson Brothers Trucking & Grading, and was a member of the Randleman Cattlemen's Association.

ASHEBORO – James Ralph Wilson, 86, of Asheboro died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Jan. 3, 2007, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Nellie Bescher and the Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a native of Stokes County, the widower of Florence Trogdon Wilson, formerly employed with Acme-McCrary and General Electric/Black & Decker and was a member of Whispering Pines Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Patty Dampier of Hanson, Kan., Susan McKay of Boone, Beverly Culbertson of Liberty and Cathy Cheek of Chesterfield, Va.; son, J. Ralph Wilson Jr. of Cebu, Philippines; sister, Beulah Davis of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Ola Jones Womble
ASHEBORO – Ola Jones Womble, 78, of 619 White Oak St., Asheboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at her home.
A private service was held.
She was a native of Apex, a homemaker and the widow of the Rev. James Albert Womble.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Womble Staley of Parnell, Mo.; son, James Ray "Bud" Womble of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Kathryn M. Wright
ASHEBORO – Kathryn Morris Wright, 74, of 744 McDowell Country Trail, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Jan. 3, 2008, at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, with Dr. Karen Hudson officiating.
She was a native of Montour Falls, N.Y., a graduate of Cornell University, a retired elementary school teacher, attended Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ramseur and was active in many civic and community organizations.
Surviving are her sons, Ron Wright of Apex, Jerry Wright of Swoope, Va., and Mark Hasson of Montour Falls, N.Y.; sister, Phyllis Frost of Clearwater, Fla.

TRINITY – Brenda Gail Wyatt, 38, of 4605 Kennedy Road, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Jan. 2, 2008, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with Charles Reeder officiating.
She was a native of Franklinton and a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Payne of the home; mother, Sandra Wyatt of Franklinton; stepfather, Willie Harold Wall of Trinity; sister, Robin Small of Panama City, Fla.
Ruth K. York
ASHEBORO – Ruth Frances Keeling York, 88, of 308 Virginia Ave., Asheboro, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Randolph Hospital.

She was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker.
Surviving are her daughters, Dorcas Elson of Ocala, Fla., Phyllis Rico of Bradenton, Fla., and Mary Y. Chrismon of Chincoteague Island, Va.; son, Kenneth Ronald York Sr. of the home; sisters, Lizzie K. Stuart of Randleman and Annie Lou Marley of Asheboro; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren.
