Dec. 18
Vocalist Lane Ragsdale present "A Greeting Card from Lane and Friends" at 7 p.m. at the Asheboro Public Library. The show, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free. Joining Ragsdale will be Patrick Osteen, a student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts; Bethany Jennings, a graduate student at the University of Mississippi; and Emmi Bulla, a student at South Asheboro Middle School. Lisa Johnson serves as accompanist and musical arranger.
Dec. 20
Santa's Workshop is held at Sunset Theatre, 234 Sunset Ave., from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages 5 to 13. The cost is $10 per child. Youth will make a special craft project and have their photograph taken with Santa. A Christmas movie with popcorn and drinks will be provided. Dec. 21
A combined choir performs the Christmas portion of Georg Friedrich Händel’s oratorio Messiah in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. The choir also will perform “Worthy Is The Lamb” and “Hallelujah." Rick Morgan will conduct. As the first performance of Messiah in 1745 was a charity benefit, each member of the audience is asked to bring at least two cans of food for Christians United Outreach Center.

Bantum Roosters Rockin Christmas is held at Sunset Theatre. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is two cans of food per person to be donated to the Christians United Outreach Center and the Salvation Army. Bantum Rooster includes Shane Morgan on keyboards, Christian Morgan on drums, Doyle Hinkle on lead guitar, and Steven Walker on bass. The concert will feature Christmas specials ranging from classical and traditional, to rock, pop, and jazz with oldies favorites intermingled. This event is presented by Asheboro Parks & Recreation.

The High Point Ballet presents The Nutcracker at High Point University's Hayworth Fine Arts Center.
