ASHEBORO – Doris Hopkins Allen, 87, of 400 Vision Drive, Asheboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 16, 2008, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with the Rev. J. Harold Hammond and Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial was in Liberty Fellowship Church Cemetery in Denton.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Dewey "Bill" Allen, a graduate of Farmer High School, a charter member of Liberty Fellowship Church and was retired from Thornton Knitting Co. in Denton.
Surviving are her daughters, Janice Perdue of Asheboro and Terri Price of Waynesville, N.C.; sister, Almada Harris of Denton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Timothy Nolan "Tim" Armstrong, 55, of 4156 Jackson Creek Road, Denton, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
The funeral was held Feb. 17, 2008, at Ramseur Wesleyan Church in Ramseur, with the Rev. Claudie Harrison, the Rev. Jeff Lamb and the Rev. Kevin Stumbo officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, employed with Just-Kris Distributing of Asheboro, attended Ramseur Wesleyan Church and was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gaye Pyrtle Armstrong; daughter, Stacey A. Ferguson of Staley; son, Shane Armstrong of Denton; mother, Lucille G. Armstrong of Asheboro; brothers, Ken Armstong of Denton and George Armstrong of Trinity; sister, Sharon Armstrong of Farmer; five grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Nancy McNeely Barham, 91, formerly of Mountain Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at River Landing in Sandy Ridge in Colfax.
The funeral was held Feb. 15, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro, with the Rev. Connie Weaver officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro.
She was a native of Mooresville, the widow of Dr. Francis Barham, a graduate of Salem College, taught music in the Winston-Salem schools, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her sons, Bob Barham of Asheboro, Mac Barham of Raleigh and John Barham of Gastonia; daughter, Betty Carter of Asheboro; sister, Whitey Fewell of Charlottesville, Va.; six grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Roy Columbus Brower, 91, of 3334 U.S. 220 Business South, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Feb. 17, 2008, at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Asheboro, with the Rev. Mitchell Walker and Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a native of Franklinville, retired from Acme-McCrary and was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Saunders Brower; daughters, Sybil Williamson of Asheboro and Karen Brown of Raleigh; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Jessie William Burrow, 88, of 1306 Old Cox Road, Apt. 44, formerly of Shamrock Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at his home.
The funeral was held Feb. 17, 2008, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
He was a native of Randolph County, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of West Bend United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma R. Burrow; sons, Bill Burrow Jr. of Asheboro, Don W. Burrow of Rocky Mount and Rusty S. Burrow of Aberdeen, Md.; daughter, Ellen B. Jones of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Ruby Baldwin of Asheboro and Minnie Sando of Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren.

FRANKLINVILLE – Mary Webster Cook, 87, of 3609 Carl Allred Road, Franklinville, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 19, 2008, at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Robert "Bob" Cook, a homemaker and a member of Whites Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Frances Walker of Franklinville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Edith B. Cridge
RAMSEUR – Edith Burns Cridge, 96, of 4678 Huntingwood Road, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Universal Health Care in Ramseur.
No services were held.
She was a native of Yorkshire, England, and a homemaker.
Surviving are her sons, Colin Cridge of Asheboro and Anthony Cridge of Delaware Water Gap, Penn.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Carson Davis
ARCHDALE – Jame Carson Davis, 56, of Archdale, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital.
A celebration of life service was held Feb. 14, 2008, at Davis Ranch Arena with the Rev. Barry Lemons and the Rev. Frankie Smith officiating. Burial was in Fairfield United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retired from Lillie Industries, a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church, was a rodeo announcer and operated the Monroe Livestock Market.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki Davis of the home; son, Jerome Davis of Archdale; daughter, Misty Slack of Archdale; step-children, Amy Trieglaff of Archdale and Ann Hale of Greensboro; six grandchildren.

Rev. George F. Dorsett
ASHEBORO – The Rev. Franklin Dorsett, 90, of 3434 Meredith Country Road, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
A graveside service was held Feb. 14, 2008, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Dewey Cheek and the Rev. Bill Bullard officiating.
He was a native of St. Louis, Mo., the widower of Mary Dunn, a retired painter and minister, a member of Golden Gate Baptist Church.
Surviving are his sons, Larry Dorsett and Donny Dorsett, both of Greensboro; stepdaughters, Rosemary Cagle of the home and Romona Paoli of New Jersey; stepson, Randy Jefferson of Fairfax, Va.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Joseph L. Farlow Sr.
RANDLEMAN – Joseph Lee Farlow Sr., 81, of 529 Worthville St., Apt. 20A, Randleman, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
A celebration of life service was held Feb. 16, 2008, at Ridge Funeral Home.
He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Anna Wright Farlow, a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church and a member of A.A. for 35 years.
Surviving are his daughters, Debbie F. Callicutt and Ann W. Richardson, both of Randleman; son, Joe Farlow Jr. of Asheboro; sister, Bea F. Masingale of Randleman; brother, Fred Farlow of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN – Tommy Neal Kendrick Sr., 64, of 831 Camellia Lane, Randleman, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
A graveside service was held Feb. 15, 2008, at Randolph Memorial Park, with the Rev. Terry Bailey officiating.
He was a native of Danville, Va., and was retired from Resco Products in Greensboro.
Surviving are his wife, Jewell R. Kendrick of Randleman; daughter, Patricia Diane Kendrick of Randleman; son, Tommie Neal Kendrick Jr. of Asheboro; sisters, Francis Johnson of Browns Summit, Marlene Ireland and Louise Kendrick, both of Burlington; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

ASHEBORO – Virginia Jean Frye Lamb, 80, of 184 Scaleybark Lane, Robbins, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral was held Feb. 17, 2008, at Victory Baptist Church of Seagrove, with the Rev. Larry Allen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Richmond County, the widow of J.C. Lamb and Herbert "Doc" Richardson, retired from Moll Industries and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sons, Bobby Richardson of Nebo, Jackie Richardson of Seagrove and Edward Lamb of Trinity; daughters, Jo Anne Simpson of Asheboro, Pat Beck of Lexington and Tina Jenkins of Randleman; sister, Doris Garrison of Carrollton, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Ruth Matilda Lowe Renegar, 93, formerly of Danny Bell Road, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
A graveside service was held Feb. 17, 2008, at Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiddenite with the Rev. Bobby E. Marsh officiating.
She was a native of Statesville, the widow of W.H. Renegar and was retired from Blue Bell.
Surviving is her sister, Madge Lumb of Danbury, Conn.

ASHEBORO – Betty Lou Hooper Stanley, 75, of 400 Vision Drive, Asheboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 15, 2008, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with the Rev. Alan Camp and the Rev. James Robbins officiating. A graveside service was held Feb. 17, 2008, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin.
She was a native of Bryson City, N.C., the widow of D.C. Stanley and had been a resident of Randolph County for 39 years.
Surviving are her sons, Doyle Stanley, Doug Stanley, and Ricky Stanley, all of Randleman, Toby Stanley of Archdale and Patrick Stanley, of Sophia; daughters, Brenda Rholetter of Pendleton and Teresa Trogdon of Asheboro; brothers, Edward Hooper of Gastonia, Micheael Hooper of Canton, Clemmie Hooper of Newton; sisters, Jessie Phillips of Connelly Springs, Mary Jo Stone of Sophia; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Ruth M. Shirley
RANDLEMAN – Ruth Marie Shirley, 90, of 111 E. Brown St., Randleman, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 19, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Randleman, with the Rev. Martha Welch officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Joseph L. Shirley, a graduate of Greensboro High School, a member of First United Methodist Church, and was retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are her daughters, Janice Craven of Asheboro, Carolyn Edwards of Greensboro, Sharon Trim of Randleman; son, Lindsay Shirley of Randleman; half sister, Myrtle Yarborough of Greensboro; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Archie Earl Warren Jr., a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

STALEY – Shelia Mary Frances Weafer Wokoske, 84, of 10419 U.S. 64 East, Staley, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Chatham Hospital Inc.
No service was held.
She was a native of Dublin, Ireland, a retired hotel manager, of the Catholic faith and had served in the Royal Air Force.
Surviving are her daughters, Mallory Grose of Staley and Mara Wokoske of Staley; son, Francis Davis Weafer of Seagrove; one grandchild; one great-grandchild.

ASEHBORO – David Edward Wright, 45, of 716 Shannon Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro.
He was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Asheboro High School and N.C. State University and was currently a self-employed Master Executive Trainer with Wright Performance Consulting.
Surviving are his parents, Bob and Doris G. Wright of Asheboro; sister, Elizabeth Hall of Greensboro.

She was a native of Randolph County, had worked at Salem Neckwear and was a member of Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church of Randleman.

Long of Denton; brother, Lewis Wayne Cox of Climax; stepdaughter, Debbie Shaw of Denton; stepsons, Chuck Yates of Randleman and Matthew Yates of Thomasville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren.
