Roberta "Bobbie" Adams
RANDLEMAN – Roberta "Bobbie" Batson Adams, 62, of 732 Boundary Drive, Randleman, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Feb. 11, 2008, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Morris officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of California, a member of First Baptist Church in Randleman, was formerly employed with Jockey International and retired from Randolph Hospital.
Surviving are her sons, Jacob Chris Richardson of Randleman and Eddie Richardson of Winston-Salem; father, Robert L. Batson of Level Cross; sisters, Sandra Auman of Asheboro, Patsy York of Sophia and Becky Newsome of Randleman; three grandchildren.

Cleo B. Bost
ARCHDALE – Cleo Barnes Bost, 91, of 115 Pinecrest Drive, died Feb. 3, 2008.
A graveside service was held Feb. 6, 2008, at Floral Garden Memorial Park with the Rev. Ottis Collins officiating.
She was a native of Guilford County and the widow of Herman O. Bost.
Surviving are her sons, James Harold Bost and Herman Wayne Bost, both of Archdale; daughter, Vera Stilley of High Point; sisters, Irene Poe and Iris Stockner, both of Asheboro; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
Thomas Wade Brookshire Jr.
SOPHIA – Thomas Wade Brookshire Jr., 62, of 4905 Old Edgar Road, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point.
A private graveside service was held.
He was a native of Asheboro and was retired from Carolina Tire.
Surviving are his wife, Vonnie L. Brookshire; daughter, Tina Trogdon of Randleman; sister, Linda Straughan of Randleman; two grandchildren.
Kathryn McCorquodale Carter
LIBERTY – Kathryn McCorquodale Carter, 90, of Liberty, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.
The funeral was held Feb. 11, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Liberty, with the Rev. Wayne Dunn officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
She was the widow of William L. Carter, a member of First Baptist Church of Liberty, and a former member of the Rose Lovers Garden Club.
Surviving are her sister, Helen Walker of Franklinville.

James R. Huffstetler
RANDLEMAN – James Richard Huffstetler, 59, of 2114 WOW Road, #11, Randleman, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
A memorial service was held in Bessemer City.
He was a native of Gastonia and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia Cogswell of Randleman; sisters, Lynelle Cobbins, Barbara Hedgepath, Gail Rice, Annette Blake, Glenda Cox and Pat Adams; brothers, Larry Huffstetler and Dave Huffstetler; three grandchildren.
Martha C. Lawrence
ASHEBORO – Martha Jane Craven Lawrence, 75, of 514 Vision Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at the Carolina House in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 6, 2008, at Holly Spring Friends Meeting with the Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of John R. Lawrence Sr., a graduate of Franklinville High School and Lees McRae College, retired from Randolph Hospital, a member of Holly Spring Friends Meeting and volunteered with Meals On Wheels and the SHIIP Program.
Surviving are her son, John Robert Lawrence Jr. of Archdale; daughters, Jane Lawrence Black of Archdale, Elizabeth Lawrence Heaton of Charlotte; brother, William Clyde Craven Jr. of Asheboro; sister, Edith Craven Keen of Asheboro; three grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN – Dorothy May Sanders Lofstrom, 86, of 108 W. Brown St., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.
The funeral was held Feb. 11, 2008, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Randleman, with the Rev. C. Michael Stumbo officiating. Burial was in Bowling Green, Ind.
She was a native of Odon, Ind., and was employed by the Pilgrim Tract Society in Randleman.
Surviving are her husband, Fredrik Paul Lofstrom; sister, Martha Franklin of Freedom, Ind.
William C. Massie
ASHEBORO – William "Bill" Charles Massie, 70, of 587 Brown Trail, Asheboro, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 12, 2008, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with Dr. Mark Key officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Hamilton, Ohio, a graduate of Anderson University, retired from B.B. Walker Co., also volunteered with The Salvation Army, United Way and Randolph County Crime Stoppers.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Hunt Massie of the home; son, William "Will" L. Massie of Asheboro; daughter, Dianna Pollard of Asheboro; brothers, Richard Massie of Hamilton, Ohio, Donald Massie of Bellbrook, Ohio; sisters, Patricia Rhodes of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Cheryl Ash of Madison, Ind.; four grandchildren.

She was a native of Cherokee County, the widow of Martin Luther Millsaps and a homemaker.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty Brewer, Faye Allen, Patsy Marshall, all of Sophia; son, Walter Millsaps of Sophia; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Ruby Mae Morris
RANDLEMAN – Ruby Mae Morris, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Hospice Home of High Point.
The funeral was held Feb. 12, 2008, at First Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Don Hurlburt and the Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, a 1953 graduate of Randleman High School and was retired from Eveready Battery Co. in Asheboro.
Surviving are her sisters, Bertha M. Bryant, Doris M. Luck, both of Randleman; brothers, Wade L. Morris of Randleman, James R. Morris, Odell Morris, John W. Morris, Van Morris, all of Asheboro, Herbert E. Morris of Sophia.

ASHEBORO – Celia Ann Pritchard Oliver, 65, of 312 Luck Road, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.

She was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Campbell University, was a teacher at Franklin Elementary School In Mt. Airy, Wake Forest Elementary, Wake Forest and Donna Lee Loflin Elementary in Asheboro.
Surviving are her husband, Baxter Boone "Butch" Oliver of the home; daughter, Lisa Oliver O'Connell of Asheboro; son, Jeffrey Boone Oliver of Zebulon; brothers, Roger Pritchard, L.D. Pritchard, both of Asheboro; sisters, Cynthia Wilson and Sue Daughtry, both of Asheboro; five grandchildren.

He was a native of Greenville, S.C., a retired employee of Bell South, a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

She was a native of Randolph County, of the Baptist faith and was employed in the housekeeping and dietary department of Randolph Health & Rehab Center.
Surviving are sons, Walter Rush of Asheboro, Barry Rush of Liberty and Adolph Duran Rush of Franklinville; sisters, Georgia M. Rush and Farriest R. Little, both of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Tommy Sykes
ASHEBORO – Willie Thomas "Tommy" Sykes, 75, of 202 Westbury Drive, Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Feb. 11, 2008, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with Dr. Roy Grigsby, Joe Morgan, Joshua Evans and Dr. Ronnie Chaney officiating. Burial was in Alamance Memorial Park.
He was a native of Alamance County, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. and a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Crumpton Sykes; daughter, Betty Sykes Stevens of Pine Level; brother, Homer Sykes of Burlington; sisters, Catherine Westbrook and Marion Westbrook, both of Burlington; three grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Paul Smith Tedder, attended Seagrove School, was a 1937 graduate of Asheboro High School, formerly employed with Jones' Department Store, Blue Gem Manufacturing and Burlington Socks.
Surviving are her daughters, Martha King of Burlington and Brenda King Metcalf of Forest City; son, Charles (C.L.) Tedder of Asheboro; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, a member of Amity Hills Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Eveready-Energizer and Union Carbide.
