RANDLEMAN – Pamela Ann Parker Ambrosini, 42, of 3736 Applewood Road, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
The funeral was held Feb. 4, 2008, at First Wesleyan Church in Randleman, where she was a member, with the Rev. Don Hurlburt and the Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. Burial was in Country Holiness Cemetery in Randleman.
She was a native of Greensboro and employed with Esteves-DWD as a office manager.
Surviving are her husband, Timothy Ambrosini of Randleman; daughters, Amber Gordon, Ashley Gordon, Ariel Gordon and Angel Craven, all of Randleman; parents, Frankie and Claradean Suits of Greensboro; brothers, Randy Parker of Siler City, and Doug Parker, Ricky Parker, both of Asheboro; sister, Cathy Talbert of Reidsville; maternal grandmother, Maggie Jones of Durham.

ASHEBORO – Mary Alice Merritt Bailey, 85, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
The funeral was held Feb. 2, 2008, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Boyd Byerly and Pastor Huey Turner officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Bill Bailey, a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God and was retired from Union Carbide.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Dorothy Merritt of Asheboro; several nieces and nephews.

LIBERTY – James Ross Black, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital Hospice Center.
A graveside service was held Feb. 2, 2008, at Smithwood United Church of Christ Cemetery in Liberty, with the Rev. Greg Burris officiating.
He was the widower of Annie Vickrey Black.
Surviving are his sons, Harold Ross (Pete) Black of Liberty and William David Black of Greensboro; sister, Dr. Carolyn Black Ferree of Winston-Salem; brother, Ronnie Black of Liberty; five grandchildren.

TRINITY – Joseph Linsey "Joe" Burge, 55, of 5418 Fairview Church Road, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral was held Feb. 5, 2008, at Fairview United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Smith, Pastor Bobby Loving and the Rev. Charles Walker officiating. Burial with miliatary honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard was in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Trinity, employed with Myrtle Desk Co. (Hayworth Inc.) as a maintenance supervisor, a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carlene Covington Burge of the home; daughter, Jodi Pugh of Trinity; son, Dean Burge of Trinity; mother, Mary Inez Burge of Trinity; sisters, Gail Mann and Andrea Hyde, both of Trinity; four grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Edward Cleo Burks, 74, of 335 Freedom Drive, Asheboro, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

He was a native of Altavista, Va., the widower of Dora N. Burks and Betty H. Burks, and was retired from Prestige Fabricators.

Oak Island – James Phillip Dezern Sr., 67, of Oak Island, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.
A memorial service was held Feb. 2, 2008, at the chapel of Peacock-Newman & White Funeral Service in Southport.
He was a native of Asheboro and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie Williams Dezern of the home; son, Jimmy Dezern of Oak Island; brothers, Terry Dezern of Asheboro and Eddie Dezern of Greensboro; sister, Brenda Cox of McLeansville; one grandchild.

ASHEBORO – Mattie Vernon Tucker Flowers, 92, of 111 W. Taft Ave., Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at her home.

She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of John Washington Flowers and a homemaker.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Vernon F. Hayes, retired from Belk's Dept. Store, and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

ASHEBORO – Rachel Elizabeth "Betty" Grauer Hill, 79, of 945 S. Church St., Apt. 117, Asheboro, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at her home.
The funeral was held Feb. 2, 2008, at Snelling Funeral Home Chapel in Chesapeake, Va., with Rev. Robert D. Hill Jr., Dr. Richard Crider and the Rev. Vance Smith officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake, Va.
She was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., the widow of Robert Dorsett Hill, a 1946 graduate of Bartran High School, a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, and retired from Missions to Military.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Williams of Asheboro; son, the Rev. Robert D. Hill Jr. of Water Valley, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was a Chatham County native, retired from Hancock Hams and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a homemaker and a charter member of Flint Hill Church of God, Troy and also a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God in Asheboro.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Sulon Benson Kivett, a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church of Asheboro and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.

ASHEBORO – Johnie Douglas Mann, 74, of 717 Fesmire St, Asheboro, died Jan. 28, 2008, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
The funeral was held Jan. 31, 2008, at Flag Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Jarrett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
He was a native of Hiltons, Va., a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a graduate of East Tennessee State University, formerly employed with Stedman Corp. and was a member of Flag Springs United Methodist Church.

She was a native of Randolph County, retired from Acme-McCrary Copr. and was a member of Mt. View Independent Methodist Church.

ASHEBORO – Sherman Franklin Ragsdale, 70, of 2453 Rockwood Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at his home.
The funeral was held Feb. 3 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Kelly Toth officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard was in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a native of Randolph County, a U.S Navy veteran, formerly employed with Burlington Industries and presently employed with Asheboro Ford Lincoln Mercury.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Auman Ragsdale; son, Frank Ragsdale of Greensboro; daughter, April Dawn Reyes of Randleman; sisters, Lois Kearns and JoAnn Anthony, both of Asheboro; four grandchildren.

LIBERTY – Sharon Denise Hensley Shoe, 53, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008.
The funeral was held Jan. 30, 2008, at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church cemetery.
Surviving are her daughters, Candy Jordan and April Cousar; brother, Harold Hensley; sisters, Doris Scott, Jean Robbins and Karen Snow; six grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – Sharron Elizabeth Murphy Turner, 62, of 211 McLaurin Drive, Asheboro, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral was held Feb. 4, 2008, at Central Carolina Community Church, with Pastor Frankie Gentry officiating.
She was a native of Baltimore, Md., and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are daughter, Pattie Dingess of Asheboro; sons, Randy A. Turner and Rusty A. turner, both of Asheboro; sister, Linda Henderson of Indian Trail; brother, Lawrence Talley of Eden; five grandchildren.

She was a native of Kernersville, the widow of E. V. Walker Jr., retired from Commonwealth Hosiery and a member of New Salem United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, Mickey O. Walker of Randleman; daughter, Patricia A. Pugh of Asheboro; sisters, LuRay Jones of Greensboro and Betty J. Humble of Liberty; brothers, James A. Nelson of Randleman and Billy V. Nelson of Mt. Holly; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

ASHEBORO – William Lee White, 80, of 711 Britt Ave., Asheboro, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral was held Jan. 30, 2008, at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard was in Oaklawn Cemetery Asheboro.
He was a native of High Point, a graduate of Asheboro High School, a World War II U.S. Coast Guard veteran, professional photographer, formerly employed with Nance Chevrolet, owner and operator of Carolina Sight and Sound and worked in advertising at The Courier Tribune, a member of First Baptist Church, member of the American Legion Post 45 and Amvet's Asheboro Post 205.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Allred White; daughter, Sharon W. Newby of Asheboro, Susan L. White of Garner; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO – David Edward Wright, 45, of 716 Shannon Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at his Greensboro residence.

He was a native of Randolph County, a 1980 graduate of Asheboro High School, a graduate of N.C. State University, formerly employed with Lincoln Financial, currently self-employed with Wright Preformace Counseling, and a member of the Asheboro and Greensboro Jaycees.
Surviving are his parents, Bob and Doris G. Wright of Asheboro; sister, Elizabeth Hall of Greensboro; niece, Lauren Hall of Greensboro; nephew, Mitchell Hall of Greensboro.
