Oct. 24
11 a.m. until: Crestview Church, 180 Crestview Church Road in Asheboro, holds its annual barbecue. Plates are $6 for adults and $3 for children and include barbecue, homemade slaw, pinto beans, hushpuppies and dessert. Plates available for dine in, carry out and delivery. Oct. 25
7 a.m. until: Church of God of Prophesy, 135 Wright St. in Ramseur, holds its Fall Festival featuring breakfast items, apple pies, yard sale items, baked goods, chili beans and hotdogs.
3 p.m.-6 p.m.: Glad Tidings Church in Asheboro holds its Fall Festival. Admission is $5.
3 p.m.-7 p.m.: Kildee Wesleyan Church, 1016 Kildee Church Road in Ramseur, holds a barbecue supper. Tickets are $7. Plates include barbecue, slaw, pinto beans, rolls and dessert. Plates available for eat in or take out.
5:30 p.m. until: Old Union United Methodist Church, 5077 Walker Mill Road in Sophia, holds a Halloween party in the fellowship hall. A costume contest will begin at 5:3 p.m.
7 p.m.: Antioch Baptist Church, 146 Drum St. in Asheboro, holds a singing featuring the Country Echoes.
Oct. 26
10:30 a.m.: Central Wesleyan Church, 614 Hoover St. in Asheboro, holds its homecoming with Pastor Larry Johnson speaking. Harold Holmes and the Way Trio are the musical guests. Dinner will follow in the fellowship hall.
10:30 a.m.: New Life Family Fellowship, 1354 Allred St. in Asheboro, holds its homecoming with guest speaker the Rev. John Auler. A covered dish lunch will follow.
Oct. 29
6:15 p.m.: First Baptist Church, 133 N. Church St. in Asheboro, hosts the McDonald Family Singers in concert.
Oct. 31
6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.: Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, 1511 Main St. in Ramseur, holds its annnual Trunk or Treat in the church's parking lot. The Boy Scouts will provide hot dogs.
6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.: New Life Family Fellowship, 1354 Allred St. in Asheboro, holds a Pumpkin Patch Party, games, snacks and Trunk or Treat. The public is invited.
Nov. 1
9 a.m.-7:30 p.m.: Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Meeting Road in Asheboro, holds its annual bazaar and barbecue. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Take outs will be available. Call (336) 629-0641 for more information.
6 p.m.: New Beginnings Baptist Church, 1409 Southmont Drive in Asheboro, holds a gospel singing featuring Eddie Hill and the Gospel Travelers. A meal will be held afterward.
Nov. 2
11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Grace Lutheran Church, 146 S. Fayetteville St. in Liberty, holds its annual benefit barbecue. The cost is $7 per plate or $4 per pound. Proceeds benefit local charities.
5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 N. Fayetteville St. in Asheboro, holds Harvest Night with free food, games, fun and fellowship.
Nov. 8
5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Old Union United Methodist Church, 5077 Walker Mill Road in Sophia, holds its fifth annual country buffett meal, auction and raffle fund-raiser. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 4 to 10 and free for children under 3. The auction begins at 7 p.m.
Nov. 9
10:30 a.m.-noon: Glad Tidings Church in Asheboro celebrates its anniversary with Pastor Bob Edmondson.
Nov. 15
8 a.m.-2 p.m.: West Asheboro Church of God, 197 Lewallen Road in Asheboro, holds a fall bazaar featuring clothing, odds and ends, baked goods and produce. Breakfast and lunch items will be for sale.
Revivals/Meetings/Etc.
Friendly Wesleyan Church, 215 S. Asheboro St. in Liberty, holds its revival Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. Services are at 7 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Mark Wilburn is the speaker. A covered dish meal will follow.
