WILMINGTON – Betty Tippett Allred, 73, formerly of Franklinville, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

No service is planned.

She was retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections and recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Survivors include children, Angela Bergeron of Raleigh, and Kevin Allred and Shannon Allred, both of Wilmington; three grandchildren.



Virginia D. Allred

ASHEBORO – Virginia Dare Allred, 82, of 400 Vision Drive, formerly of Franklinville, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Randolph Hospital.

A graveside service was held June 21, 2010, at Franklinville United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Perry Brown officiating.

She was a Randolph County native and homemaker.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Steven D. Bulla

RAMSEUR – Steven Dale “Rube” Bulla, 56, of 2176 Pleasant Ridge Road, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at his home.

The funeral was held June 17, 2010, at Pugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating.

He was a Randolph County native, member of First E&R Church of Christ and previously employed by Greene Engineering in Wilson.

Survivors include his parents, Dexter Clayton Bulla Sr. and Rosalie J. Bulla of Ramseur; sisters, Jan Bulla Williamson and Coni Bulla Mabe, both of Ramseur.



Sue C. Bullard

ASHEBORO – Margaret Sue Callicutt Bullard, 56, of 1892 Callicutt Henley Road, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

The funeral was held June 17, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. D.C. Sullivan and the Rev. Earl Lilly officiating.

Burial was at Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a Randolph County native and had worked for Sara Lee, Quik Chek, Asheboro Country Club and Harvest Moon Cafe.

Survivors include her husband, James W. “Tiny” Bullard of the home; daughters, Carla Furr of Randleman, and Amanda Bullard and Angela Garcia, both of Asheboro; sons, Hank Overman and James “Bubba” Bullard, both of the home, and James “Junior” Bullard of Franklinville; father and stepmother, James and Shelby Callicutt of Troy; stepfathers, George Dunn of Black Ankle and J.C. Lewis of Wilmington; sisters, Cindy Pearson of Conway, S.C., Dawn Horan of High Point, Inge Cheshire of Wilmington, Vickie Thompson of Level Cross and Jamie Grafton of Oklahoma; brothers, Wayne Callicutt and Roger Callicutt, both of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren.

Kathy Denny

RANDLEMAN – Kathy Gail McLean Passmore Denny, 60, of 4508 Lamb St., died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington.

The funeral was held June 17, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Elberston and the Rev. Scott Roper officiating.

Burial was at Randolph Memorial Park.

She was an Andrews native and certified nursing assistant.

Survivors include her husband, Reginald Denny; daughter, Deidra Passmore Harb of Fries, Va.; son, James Passmore of Thomasville; mother, Bernice McLain of Andrews; sisters, Shirley Passmore of Nantahala, Alomia Mashburn of Topton, and Linda Thompson and Revia Dockery, both of Murphy; brothers, Larry McLain of Topton and Gary McClain of Murphy; seven grandchildren.

Kayden A. Ferrell

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Kayden Anthony Ferrell, infant son of Sarah and Chad Ferrell, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

Surviving other than the parents are grandparents, Mechele and Jeff Bowden of Asheboro, N.C., and Charles and Georgia Ferrell of Anchorage; great-grandparents, Harold and Frances Williams, Shirley Crowder and Carson Bowden of Asheboro, N.C.



Steve Gnida

FRANKLINVILLE – John Stephen “Steve” Gnida, 59, of 3752 Bull Run Creek Road, died Friday, June 18, 2010.

A memorial service was held June 22, 2010, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Dr. Russell Brownworth and the Rev. Alanda Harris officiating.

He was retired from the National Guard/Army Reserve and Unilever BestFoods, and worked the Randolph County election polls.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Routh Gnida; daughter, Elisabeth Gnida of the home; son, Travis Gnida of Randleman; stepfather, Francis “Mac” McAllister; two grandchildren.



Seldon Ray Henson

SEAGROVE – Seldon Ray Henson, 71, of 7812 Riverside Road, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral was held June 20, 2010, at Loflin Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Voncannon and the Rev. Gerald Hussey officiating.

Burial with military honors was at Riverside Baptist Church.

He was a Randolph County native, widower of Mary Maness Henson, Army veteran and formerly employed by Randolph County Schools Maintenance Department.

Survivors include sisters, Jane Dunn of Carthage, Lois Ritter and Lola Elberson, both of Ramseur, and Cleo Henson of Asheboro.

Carroll D. Hunt

ASHEBORO – Carroll Delmonte “Bim” Hunt, 87, of 1551 Mountain View Church Road, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at his home.

The funeral was held June 19, 2010, at Mt. View Independent Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hunt officiating.

Burial was at the church cemetery.

He was a Randolph County native and had worked at Hunt’s Automotive.

Survivors include his wife, Frances W. Hunt of the home; daughters, Brenda H. Thomas of Biscoe, Ruth H. Brady of Sophia, and Gail H. Bailey and Lucy H. Lucas, both of Asheboro; sons, Sammy Hunt, Clifford Hunt and David Hunt, all of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Thaney R. Lambe

SOPHIA – Thaney Reece Lambe, 92, of Sophia , died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Clapp’s Nursing Center.

The funeral was held June 18, 2010, at Pugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Ferguson and the Rev. Jeff Reece officiating. Burial was at Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a Surry County native, widow of George A. Lambe Jr. and member of Forest Park Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Hilda Wright of Eden; son, Dave Lambe of Greensboro; sister, Faye Farlow of Sophia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Joyce K. Lemonds

ASHEBORO – Joyce King Lemonds, 80, 735 William Ave., died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at her home.

A memorial service was held June 18, 2010, at Oakhurst Baptist Church, where she was a member.

She was a seamstress, member of Eastview Garden Club and on the Asheboro/Randolph Garden Club Council.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Lemonds; daughters, Vickie Lorimer of Asheboro and Sandy Lemonds of Asheboro; son, Hayworth Lemonds of Morenci, Ariz.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Debra L. Pittman

LEXINGTON – Debra Dean Lucas Pittman, 52, of 1238 Hunt Road, died Wednesday, June, 2010.

A memorial service was held June 19, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Klein officiating.

She was a Randolph County native, 1980 and 1992 UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, and licensed attorney in the Carolinas.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Pittman; daughters, Ashley Pittman of the home and Kelly Pittman; mother, Virgie Brown Lucas of Asheboro; sister, Wanda Pegg of Asheboro.

Bill Roach

LIBERTY – Bill Roach, 67, of Liberty, died Friday, June 18, 2010.

The funeral was held June 21, 2010, at Liberty Friends Meeting with Jan Green and Dale Matthews officiating.

He was a Randolph County native, owner of Bessemer Tire & Automotive and Liberty Auto Sales, and founder of the General Greene Chapter of AACA.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Roach; son, Billy Roach; daughters, Felecia Blair and Rhonda Roach; brother, Bob Roach; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Bobby G. Saunders

ASHEBORO – Bobby Gene Saunders, 77, of 425 Clearview Drive, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Hospice Home at High Point.

The funeral was held June 22, 2010, at Pugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen, the Rev. Mitch Walker and the Rev. Jeff Freeman officiating. Burial with military honors was at Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a Montgomery County native, Korean War Navy veteran, member of the American Legion, member of Shady Grove Christian Church, retired from Garner Florist and later worked at Asheboro Florist, Freeman’s Florist and Arbor Gate Florist.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Brown Saunders; son, Jimmy Saunders of Asheboro; daughter, Angie Freeman of Randleman; four grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN – Bobby Allen Sheron, 70, of 1963 Sheron Country Drive, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at his home.

The funeral was held June 16, 2010, at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Dickerson and the Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating. Burial with military honors was at Cedar Falls Baptist Church cemetery.

He was a Randolph County native, formerly employed by Sapona Mfg., Army veteran and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Sheron of the home; daughter, Lori Davenport of Franklinville; sons, Rick Sheron and Tim Sheron, both of Asheboro; sister, Marie Swaringen of New Bern; brothers, Donald Sheron of Asheboro and Terry Sheron of Ramseur; seven grandchildren.

Wade M. Young

SOPHIA – Wade Maurice Young, 68, of 3959 Millikan Road, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at his home.

A graveside service was held June 18, 2010, at Strawbridge Young Family Cemetery in Newdale, with David Ford officiating.

He was a Yancey County native, owner of Young Construction Co., former High Point police officer, had served on the board of Community Outreach of Archdale-Trinity and member of New Covenant Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mimi Ghosn Young of the home; sons, Jimmy Young of Asheboro and Paul Young of Sophia; daughter, Tania Kirkpatrick of Sophia; sister, Barbara Ford of Burnsville; six grandchildren.

Floyd Yow

RANDLEMAN – Floyd Yow, 72, of 244 Small Road, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Country Manor.

The funeral was held June 17, 2010, at Pugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial was at South Plainfield Friends Meeting cemetery.

Survivors include sisters, Katherine McDonald Johnson and Ila Thompson, both of Asheboro, and Betty Fritts of Lexington; stepsisters, Betty Hilliard of Randleman and Hazel Bates of Asheboro; stepbrother, Jesse Allred of Franklinville.
