Cliff Allen

ASHEBORO – Clifton Leon "Cliff" Allen, 83, of 465 N.C. 42 S., died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at his home.

A memorial service was held May 19, 2012, at Asheboro Friends Meeting, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ken Thames, the Rev. Pat Thames and the Rev. Leslie Winslow officiating.

He was a Ramseur native, Wake Forest University graduate and retired from Burlington Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Stout Allen; daughters, Karen Allen of Apex and Lu Ann Allen Chock of Millbrae, Calif.; sisters, Ola Kenan of Greensboro and Josephine Moore of Ramseur; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Richard Brower

ASHEBORO – Richard Dewey Brower, 82, of Asheboro, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral was held May 16, 2012, at Pugh Funeral Home with Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial was at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

He was a Randolph County native, retired from Georgia-Pacific, a farmer and attended Sunset Avenue Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Carter Brower; daughters, Joyce Nekervis, Janet Lare and Theresa Cline, all of Seagrove; sons, Dwight Brower and Dale Brower, both of Asheboro; sister, Hazel York of Ramseur; brother, Edwin Brower of Seagrove; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Betty Carter

ASHEBORO – Betty Coley Carter, 53, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at her home.

A private service was held at Galax, Va.

She was a Randolph County native and member of Golden Gate Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Shawn Carter of the home; sisters, Shirley McNeil and Peggy Sizemore, both of Galax, Va., Terri Bottoms of Oak Island and Wendy Smith of Siler City; brother, Charles McNeil of Asheboro.
