Ridge Funeral Home pledges to campaign

ASHEBORO — Ridge Funeral Home recently contributed $15,000 to Hospice of Randolph County’s Imagine a Home capital campaign currently under way to raise funds for the construction of an inpatient hospice facility.

“We truly appreciate the love and care that has been provided to all the families served by Hospice of Randolph County since it was founded in 1983 and Ridge Funeral Home is honored in continuing its support of Hospice,” said Nancy Swaringen, co-owner of Ridge. “I would like to extend a personal thank you to all the staff at Hospice for the care given to my father, Jimmy Swaringen, last year.”

To date, approximately 1.367 million of the $1.55 million campaign goal has been raised.

Through continued contributions from businesses, foundations and local citizens, Hospice of Randolph County hopes to reach its goal in time for ground breaking in late summer of 2008.

The future 10-bed hospice home facility will be designed to accommodate patients who are nearing the end-of-life and have special needs that can no longer be managed at their home.

The design of the hospice facility will center on creating a home-like environment in which patients and families will be comfortable while receiving highly-skilled inpatient care and support.
